Pastor David grew up in Parkersburg, WV, and when he was in eighth grade, his family moved to Durham.  After graduating from Durham High, he went to UNC-Chapel Hill and then to Duke Divinity School.  He met his wife Carol while at Duke.  They have both been United Methodist ministers for 35 years, serving all across eastern North Carolina.  The Goehrings have two grown daughters, Kendra and Lindsey.
